Enthusiastic customers, impressive machines: a review of bauma 2010

The spring weather was excellent at bauma 2010 – as was the continuous stream of visitors from nearly all parts of the world who had made their way to Munich despite the volcanic ash cloud.

The Wirtgen Group had made every effort to organize travel opportunities for all those customers who were willing to travel or were “grounded” on the way. On the very first day of the exhibition, one of the 25 conference rooms in the main pavilion was turned into a central travel bureau right away, providing active support to all those affected during the seven exhibition days.

Around 10,000 pretzels plus 2,000 kg of veal sausages and Vienna hot dogs are not the only evidence bearing witness to the highly successful trade show presentation. The Wirtgen Group took positive stock also in terms of business deals. All four brands of the Wirtgen Group succeeded in achieving excellent business results in the Bavarian capital city. bauma’s reputation of being a sales exhibition has proved true yet again.

An active part in accomplishing this success was played by 400 highly motivated staff members from the Wirtgen Group’s expert sales and service teams who attended to customers at the 75 machines, in the four Technology Pavilions and in the Customer Service Pavilion during the world’s largest trade fair.

Large crowds gathered around the ten world firsts from Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm and Kleemann. The “Best of” gallery shows the impressive dimensions of the exhibition stand plus all of the exhibition highlights. See for yourself:

20 April 2010 – Day 2: More and more customers from abroad and overseas arrive at the Wirtgen Group stand

Despite very difficult travel conditions, several customer groups from India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Columbia, Algeria and Brazil found their way to the stand of the Wirtgen Group on the second day of bauma.

More than 36 hours in a bus, more than 4 days travel time from South America to Germany, changing trains and buses several times, nothing could stop these customers from coming to bauma.

19 April 2010 – Day 1: bauma Partner Country India visits Wirtgen Group stand

India is the official partner country of bauma 2010. Right on the exhibition start on Monday morning a VIP delegation of “Messe München” with Sudhir Vyas, the ambassador of the Republic of India, visited the Wirtgen Group stand.

The Wirtgen Group has been present in the Indian market with its own sales and service company Wirtgen India for two decades. Now, a new final assembly plant is being built in the industrial centre of Pune in north-west India. The plan is to assemble special products for the Indian market.

The official visit presented a very good opportunity to strengthen the good relations with India.
